The inspiration for my wallpaper this week is a little bit out of left field. Some of you may be aware that Wisconsin once tried to steal the "Mitten State" slogan from Michigan. In the winter of 2011, a Wisconsin tourism campaign used the image of a mitten stretched in the shape of Wisconsin. Some Michiganders were outraged, but most thought it was hilarious.
This is not what a mitten looks like. The "thumb" is an incredibly generous interpretation of what the state actually looks like. I don't want to see the hand that fits in that mitten.
My takeaway from the situation was that Wisconsinites aren't very good at drawing hands. In fact, maybe people from Wisconin just aren't good at drawing in general. So what would it look like if the head coaches from Wisconsin and Michigan were asked to draw their respective mascots? See for yourself below.
It's time for another wallpaper!
The opponent this week is well known in the Michigan fanbase (we won't talk about why). The Buffaloes from Colorado come into the Big House this week. Before the season, this seemed like another cupcake game. It could still end up being a cupcake game, but Colorado does seem to be a little better than Hawaii and UCF.
It's time for 'ol Harbaugh and the boys to wrangle up some buffs.
This wallpaper is an edit of an old John Mix Stanley painting. He was an artist in the mid-1800's that painted a lot of of landscapes and Native Americans. This specific painting can be found in the Smithsonian.
This is one of the more difficult wallpapers I've created. I cobbled together a few photos from the MGoBlog Flickr to get Harbaugh in the right pose. Hope you enjoy it.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.
This offseason was rough on my wallpaper creation. Here's the timeline:
My computer decided to die - full fail.
Worked my ass off for my company. Time and time again.
I got a promotion at work and jumped two levels with a pretty nice raise.
Spent some money to fix the aformentioned dead computer.
Got hooked on Destiny for my Xbox.
Watched the Florida game for the 10th time.
Carved out some time for creating a schedule wallpaper.
Determined...somewhat distracted by Destiny...it's only a couple games...NO...determined me.
LAST WEEK: Fresh Look
More wallpaper? More wallpaper.
This week is all about the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach a.k.a. Jim Harbaugh. We love Harbaugh. He's an odd duck, but he's our odd duck, and he happens to be a damn good coach. Offseason Harbaugh has been entertaining, but it's time for Sideline Harbaugh to return. Let's celebrate.
These wallpapers are all about iconic Harbaugh things. First, we have the Skinny M hat. He isn't the first to wear it, but he wears it well. Second, the Harbaugh sweatshirt. He wears this thing everywhere, and this year it has a new logo. Third, the infamous "Enthusiasm" quote. Use it for daily motivation. Lastly, the Harbaugh schedule. HARBAUGH HARBAUGH HARBAUGH.
Use these wallpapers with enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
New season, new wallpaper! In my previous Diary entry I talked about recreating Michigan's new font for use in wallpapers. Now, it's time to show off some of the fruits of my labor.
To start things off I have two schedule wallpapers. One is in the theme of the away uniforms and the other is in the theme of the home uniforms. The away games are highlighted in white, since that is the color of our awesome away pants.
The graphics at the top of both wallpapers are based off of designs from the new Jordan gear. The away design is from the 2016 student tee. The home design is from this football tee. I really dig some of the new designs that have been introduced by Nike and co, so I thought they would look great as wallpaper.
I have a lot more wallpapers to share before the start of the season. I'm aiming to share a few every week leading up to the first game. Stay tuned and Go Blue!

Here's another one. May do some more and post them all in a diary or something. Until then, enjoy!
