Tim Tebow
Tebow to the CFL

SBNation with the scoop. What surprises me about the CFL is the whole jav-in or jav-out scheme. And also, the bound-for-street rule. Is there any reason the NFL hasn't instituted these yet?
What an adventure!
Edit: To ensure the longevity of this thread, I feel like I must inform all that this is satire. Or is it?NCAA: Senior QB Class Schedule "Student" Athletes
SBNation recently published an article on Marcus Mariota (Oregon) who will be taking two classes this fall during his senior football season; Golf and Yoga. This follows the trend of Matt Leinart who during his senior season took Ballroom Dancing, Denis Dixon (Oregon) who took billards, and the best of the bunch Tim Tebow (Florida) who took a single 1 credit Senior Seminar class. Tebow's class happened to conflict with Florida's Tuesday afternoon practice so he never actually attended the class, he simply "worked something out with the professor." Matt Ryan (Boston College) and Colt Brennan (Hawai'i) also had similar senior class loads. Leinart, Dixon,Tebow, Brennan, and Ryan were able to go a combined 56-10 during their senior seasons.
Now it should be pointed out that Mariota, Leinart, and Tebow all worked hard thier first three years and were set to graduate so it was just a matter of staying elgible their final semester. But I don't understand how the NCAA can continue the facade of "student-athlete" when you have some of the most high profile football players barely (if ever) seeing a classroom their final semester.
Finally, it is worth pointing out the opposite side, DEVIN GARDNER! Who completed his bachelors degree in three years, and is on pace to complete his Masters in Social Work in his 5 years at Michigan.

Tom Brady Injured (likely not too bad) in Practice
The story in and of itself is (hopefully) nothing. But the fact that this happened on Tim Tebow's birthday is convenient for, well, no one but Tebow. Fingers crossed this doesn't end up ruining people's fantasy teams. And way to treat yourself Tim!
2013 NFL offseason summed up in one photo
Just an unbelievable find by this guy. It would have been funny if Urban Meyer had been in it as well.

OT: Grantland on Tebow (Parody)
Periodically Grantland will attempt to write the worst sports column possible. Yesterday Grantland's Andrew Sharp stepped up to the plate, writing this GEM on Tim Tebow's move to the Patriots. During the long offseason you owe it to yourself to read this article. Hell, you owe it to America.
Grantland does a fantastic job parodying the saccharine style of so many popular sportswriters (and not letting facts interfere with a narrative). A sample? A sample:
Tim was never given anything in this life. This quarterback was something like a Hail Mary, himself. Too short. Not athletic enough. Bad mechanics. They said he couldn't play quarterback. He was always a longshot. In college he turned into a superstar, he proved everyone wrong. When he got to the NFL, all he ever did was win. He impressed me, he impressed you, he impressed everyone.
But then Tim found out the hard way: Negativity sells with today's media.
So the more he won, the more he was crucified for poor decisions and poor throws. Eventually, all the negativity got him shipped to New York City, and that was a whole other story. He came to Manhattan pregnant with hope, but destined for an abortion. Rex Ryan was never going to give him a real chance.

Mod edit: Locked the thread because the discussion went way off course. Partially my fault for not being here in real time, but there's no reason a discussion about a football player on a sports site needs to turn into a discussion of his personal life when it's something against the sites rules.
