As for maximizing Michigan's resources, I literally cannot imagine what else Harbaugh could be doing to increase Michigan's recruiting profile and on-field fortunes.
How about getting a new weight room that can compete with the big boys.
Our current weight room looks like an 80s basement compared to Alabama and Oregon.
May be this is far from new, but I just found this website which had some material and fluff about Mike Gittleson and some his strength and training equipment while at Michigan between 1978-2007. No pizzas involved.
Some of it is pretty effed up. Other parts are kind cool, i.e. of the He-Man, Dolph Lundgren "I must brreak you!", bone crushing sort:
As I was watching the game on Saturday, I couldn't help but notice how it seemed a lot of our guys got dinged up (the ones I remember are Carvin, Jonas, and D-Rob, but it felt like more), and not a lot of their guys did (there was one toward the end of the game that I remember).
I'm not bashing Barwis at all with this, he's obviously done a terrific job of getting our guys in elite shape, but I remember him saying that a big part of his program is about injury prevention. Can these injuries be pegged on him? Or are they more attributable to the fact that injuries just happen as a result of bad luck/some guys being more prone to injury? Maybe someone with more time on their hands could put together a diary comparing injuries at various programs over the past few years to see if the Barwis Effect is helping us.
This comes to me via an FSU fan, so consider the source, don't break out to jump to conclusions mat just yet, but damn, these boys must be drinking a lot of chocolate milk.

It is Back!!! They have started their winter strength and conditioning program and Mgoblue has some video posted. Mike gets off a classic line about throwing up in sand and he comments on Big Will.
