Steven Threet
Semi OT - Threet out for ASU
I apologize if this has already be posted but after a brief search I couldn't find anything.
According to ESPN Steven Threet will no longer be playing football due to concussions, something he is still getting symptoms from.
As frustrating as 2008 was for me, I still wished him well when he departed Ann Arbor and this is kind of sad to see, especially since he seemed to be doing quite well for ASU.

[EDIT: Searching "Steven Threet" does not produce the thread that was previously posted. Hence BRIEF search. I'll be sure to search every possible tag for you trollers out there next time.]
ESPN reports Threet to retire from football due to concussions.
Too bad for him, I wish him the best.

Source: QB Steven Threet calls it career

Threet, who will be a senior in 2011, has suffered four concussions, three of which occurred last season. The source said Threet is still suffering from post-concussion syndrome and deals with constant headaches.
"Doctors have told him a fifth concussion could be debilitating," said the source. "You don't want to be 35 years old and can't hold up a cup of coffee."
Last season, Threet completed 62 percent of his passes, throwing for 2,534 yards with 18 touchdowns and 16 interceptions for the Sun Devils. He was sacked 23 times for ASU (6-6). It was his first season of play since transferring from Michigan, where he was the Wolverines' starting quarterback in 2008.
The 6-5, 240-pound Threet, who is on schedule to graduate in December, will likely remain close to the program and help as a student assistant and work with the QBs, the source said.
Arizona State begins spring football in the last week of March. Rising junior Brock Osweiler, who started the final two games of the 2010 season (both Sun Devils wins), is expected to be the team's No. 1 quarterback.
OT: Threet's Headband
Not that anyone is supposed to care about this, but I found it interesting: I just saw Steven Threet on the sideline on TV after throwing a TD for ASU, and I noticed he wears a headband or bandana under his helmet with the number "517" on it, apparently showing his pride in being from Adrian, MI where that is the area code. This seems to be a semi-popular thing to do, as I believe Reggie Bush did at USC (among others), only on his eyeblack strips.
Anyway, I would also like to add Threet looks like he has improved a ton since his one-year stint at UM, evidenced by his more than solid numbers and almost leading his Sun Devils to a win at Camp Randall (I'm sure he wanted to strangle their kicker after that game, missed PAT and all). I have to say, good for him. I wish him all the best and hope he does some good things in the PAC-10 this year.
Threet goes against Wiscy
and apparently, he's not flying below the Badgers' radar as Arizona St QB,Rivals: Threet not lost in Badger memory.
OT: Steven Threet
Looks like Steven Threet might be the starter this year at ASU. Good to see, and I wish him all the best. I hope he pulls ahead of the other guy and has a great year.

Rivals rehash of important transfers (incl. UM)
In this Rivals article on impact transfers you'll see three former Wolverines (Clemons, McGuffie, and Threet) in the featured list and another one (O'Neill) in the smaller list.

Which one was the biggest loss? I think McGuffie is the pick. I'd prefer him at slot receiver, though.
Who will make the biggest impact at their new school? Sam, again, I think.
