things go poorly
Sam Webb has an update on Mitch McGary on Go Blue Wolverine. It's a free link.
A lot of the same information, however it goes more into what he is doing in his workouts and how much he wants to get back to this team.
One interesting note was that Spike's older brother had the same surgery and gave him advice on things to do such as a lot of stretching and core work to strengthen the back.
You have to love the guy and how much he wants to be part of this team.
I missed part of the update, but from what I heard, Sam said Michigan is DEFINITELY not out of it. He said he couldn't go into details, but he said MSU definitely has issues to overcome and there are factors heavily in favor of Michigan. He said OSU is also making a late run since Larry Johnson was hired. He felt they had no chance before. No one has any idea who the real favorite is but he emphasized strongly that Michigan is still in contention.
Edited: Upon replaying the podcast Sam said it was clear then changed it to pretty clear that his parents said it wouldn't go past signing day but then said it wasn't likely.
Per Tweets received by Sam Webb, Michigan has offered the following individuals:
Devante Peete, 6'6" 200lb WR from Florida, 4* on Rivals and #12 at position Link
Hale Hentges, 6'4" 230lb TE from Missouri, 4* on Rivals and #8 at position Link
Joseph Jackson, 6'6 235lb DE from Florida, not rated yet on Rivals Link
Sam Webb updates the status of George Campbell and Damien Harris in the Detroit News. The status is much better for Harris than Campbell but Michigan is not out for either of them. Campbell insists Michigan's record had nothing to do with his decommitment because he feels he'd be part of the difference. The reason was that none of his family had visited Michigan and they felt he made a hasty decision. He's not sure if he will take an official visit to Michigan, but he hasn't ruled it out. He will make the decision when he has talked to more schools.
There have been other stories on Harris so I won't go into the details here. It does say that his mom feels the process will lead right back to Michigan.
Sam Webb has a 2014-2016 recruiting update in the Detroit News. One interesting target is 2015 Offensive Tackle Jake Fruhmorgen son of the former Alabama standout. Many say he is an Alabama lock but his father says he wants him to make his own choice and appears sincere about it. There are some Michigan ties there including him being friends with Tyrone Wheatly Jr. Getting this 4* recruit out of Florida would be great. Let's go Nuss!
