OT - Detroit City FC plays its final regular season home game tomorrow vs. Erie Admirals!
Hey guys, just thought I'd give everyone a heads up that Detroit City FC plays its final regular season game tomorrow at Cass Tech high school in Detroit. So far, the team has a 4-1-5 record, with its only loss being to AFC Cleveland. DCFC is in first place in its division, and thus controls its own destiny during its last two games (we play tonight, away, at FC Buffalo).
If you have yet to come out to any of the games, please take this opportunity to do so! Last weekend we had a record crowd of 1743, and we hope to break that this weekend against Erie. Additionally, tomorrow is family day at the game, so all kids 12 and under get in free. Plus, if you love the atmosphere of the student section at a Michigan football game, you will absolutely LOVE the atmosphere of the supporters' section. It's a one of a kind experience.
OT: Friday Open Thread
It's that time of week again and frankly Profit is slacking because he's working and not on here slacking.
What's going on for the weekend? Any crazy July 4th plans in the works? USA USA USA!
I'm off to a wedding this weekend that should be a good time, finishing out the clock here before hitting the road, off Wednesday - Sunday next week and looking forward to it.
OT: Saints GM May Have Bugged Opposing Coaches' Headsets
Hilarious new scandal for the New Orleans Saints. Apparently GM Mickey Loomis had a special wiring device rigged to the seat in his luxury box enabling him to listen in on opposing coaches' conversations from 2002-2004. Hurricane Katrina disabled the system and it was never repaired. The article mentions that this could potentially be a federal crime in addition to obvious NFL rules violations.
Way OT - RIP Dick Clark
Way off-topic I know, but I think he had enough of an impact on American culture that this news is blog-worthy. RIP Dick Clark.
OT: Tigers Day Game Thread
Game underway and Smyly looks pretty good for his first start. I think we'll need the bats to get going in this game though.
OT - Mikel LeShoure busted for pot twice in a month
http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2012/04/02/leshoure-arraigned-on-marijuana-possession/
Odd story as Mike Leshoure is busted for pot possession twice in a month. The second time he tried to eat the pot to avoid the charges. You have to wonder if he'll ever see the field for the Lions. Injury derailed his rookie season and now two charges will likely bring a suspension from the NFL.
EDIT: Story has been updated, I strongly suggest you read the police report (included in story). Additional charges may be coming from this...Apparently there was a bag of "Diesel Potpourri" which google says is synthetic pot confiscated from the rental vehicle.
