OT: New Nike Hyper Elite basketball uniforms
So Nike has officially released their "new" Hyper Elite basketball uniforms for their top schools to wear during special occasion games this season.
Even though Michigan had a uniform exactly like this (and quickly got rid of it due to its sheer ugliness), Nike decided to go ahead and make them again anyway.
Our old version from the Jamal Crawford era:

Ohio State will be wearing theirs against us during the February 5th home game. Theirs look like so:

Other teams to wear them include Texas, Gonzaga (who wore them against Butler), Marquette, Duke, North Carolina, Villanova, Kentucky, USC and Georgetown.
And to think we complained about Adidas so much...
OSU to Wear Uniformz for The Game (Again)
Ugh.

Ohio State removed the image and would not comment on whether it was, indeed, a picture of the jerseys that will be worn for ‘The Game’ this season, but a source close to the team told us it looked very similar.
“It will feature a helmet with an enlarged stripe and a scarlet jersey with standard block numbers outlined in a reflective silver,” the source said of this year’s alternate jerseys.
“It will have the standard gray pants, but with only a 3/4 stripe because of how they are designed. The stripes on the sleeves are enlarged as well, to match the helmet.”
There have also been rumors the helmet will have more of a chrome finish, much like the ones Oregon has been wearing, instead of the usual silver.

OT: Nike changes Purdue's logo
In the wake of my earlier board post about Northwestern getting Under Armour-ized, Purdue's student newspaper has published a story about how Nike has issued the university a new logo.
"It's really a Nike driven initiative," Associate Athletics Director Tom Schott said.
I had no idea that Nike and possibly other apparel companies were at liberty to up and change a university's logo. Apparently Phil Knight rules all.

OT: Nike's NFL Jerseys Debut Today
What it says in the title. Nike was awarded the NFL uniform contract in 2010 and they're debuting all the new gear today. There aren't going to be too many crazy changes due to some NFL rules about how often you can redesign your jerseys... but there might be some crazy concepts or "throwbacks" that debut, I don't know the NFL rules about that.

Uniwatch is there and tweeting some pictures. @uniwatch or the link above.
EDIT: Wow, the hype machine was on today. For most teams, no changes:

Semi OT: Texas practice unis set new low
By the beard of Phil Knight!
Pants are in the link, tops posted below for your viewing ... something.
Seriously though, this is hideous, even worse than the bumblebees we sported against sparty. All i have to ask the folks in Austin is, other than money, why? Just why? And since these are practice unis, they aren't even going to sell extensively (unless Terrelle Pryor gets his hands on a batch). Why not make something simple, iconic, and dignified, you know, like their normal unis?
