Seeing as this blog caters to a lot of Michigan residents and that we might be in need of some positive football news...with Washington defeating Minnesota and Tennessee throttling Green Bay, the Lions are in first place of the NFC North (holding the tiebreaker over Minnesota).
After losing Calvin Johnson to retirement, I certainly did not think that the Lions would find themselves in this position ~half-way through the season. They obviously have some huge flaws and have lost several games that they had no business losing, but for now I will relish in their glory. I'm also aware that this post will likely jinx them for the remainder of the season.
I stumbled across this very in-depth analysis of Mason Cole the other day while researching potential NFL picks on the Michigan Roster. This analysis and website are amazing. The analyst Dave Te Thomas, has over 30 years NFL scouting experience. Lots of Michigan content here too. Check it out:
Temple up early on Memphis, 6-0, on ESPN2.
Louisiana Tech leads Western Kentucky, 14-7, over on CBS Sports.
Arizona and SF are scoreless early on CBS (Drew Stanton getting the start for AZ).
Finally, over on TBS, Boston leads the Indians, 1-0, in the bottom of 2nd on the strength of a HanRam RBI double.
