Two weekends ago I was helping out my dad cleaning out the basement and I found this Mall Poster and Ad with Michigan and Chris Webber from 1995. Nike did an series of ads for schools Like Michigan,UNC and others. This one was at the Footlocker at Belmont Mall in Detroit back in 1995. My brother worked there and he gave that to me one half of my birthday gift.
Is there any way that going to the NIT is better than going to the NCAA tournament? The way I see it, going to the NIT could mean 2, 3, or even 4 additional games this season. Although it would be nice to keep a tourney streak going, I think it would be of benefit for next years team. There is a chance that Derrick Walton will be back before the end of this season, and those extra games would help him a lot.
With the way these freshman are progressing, I personally would take a couple extra games of the NIT over a one and done NCAA tourney appearance.
Given that Michigan is likely headed to the NIT this season, I thought this was board-worthy. With Beilein's more deliberate offensive style, how do you think a 30-second shot clock would impact the offense this year, and beyond?
Michigan moved up a couple of spots in the polls to #17 in the AP and #16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, despite the loss to Villanova.
Notables from the AP Poll: Wisconsin #2, Ohio State #14, Michigan State #19, Maryland #21 Illinois #24.
