"It's not about last year or who's here or who's isn't here," says your head coach. "It's about getting out here and competing and seeing who is here, and that's where we're gonna go."
but I thought it still a great story to see him come back successfully at Rice. He started, but largely split carries (14 for 47 yds); He did lead the team in rushing though against a tough Texas team. Good for him, much luck/love.
Saw this article in the Houston Chronicle about Sam and the upcoming season for Rice. I've always liked this guy and hope the best for him.
" McGuffie-and-Michigan never was a perfect fit after the departure of Lloyd Carr and the pro-style system, and McGuffie will likely transfer somewhere closer to home that is a better fit for his skill set. "
This inane quote is from :
Is Tim being sarcastic or has he completely gone off his rockers?
On the RR show, Doug Karsh specifically asked about the Same McGuffie rumors and Coach Gibson said, "I don't know where these rumors come from, but he's back from Texas and will be on the bus to Columbus"
I guess this doesn't really shed any "new" light on the situation, just thought it was interesting they addressed the "rumor."
I hear McGuffie came in late last night at the willow run airport, anybody go out and see it?
I'm not calling him out and I'm not questioning his toughness, but it seems to me that McGuffie tends to turn his back to contact.
I noticed this at first when I watched his high school game last year and attributed it to playing injured and catering to his injury.
I still see him doing it though, and I'm wondering why. Is he still carrying an injury? Does he get more power pushing back than going in head down? Or does he shy away from contact?
Am I making this up or has anyone else noticed this tendancy?
McGuffie is homesick....what can we as fans do to make him feel more at home?
One thought I had is the student section wearing cowboy hats....any other ideas?
