things go poorly
So, apparently Marcus Hall is selling signed and framed pictures of his "double bird" exit from The Game last season. I'm not sure what makes me facepalm more, the fact that this is even a thing or the egregious spelling error

This USA Today database has all FBS athletic directors salaries for the year along with additional compensation.
Adam Rittenberg listed in this article the highest paid ADs in the B1G.
Gene Smith is the fifth highest paid AD in the country and highest paid in the B1G at $1,058,546 ($250,000 in potential bonuses).
Barry Alvarez comes close to Smith at sixth in the country, at $1,040,800.
And our own Dave Brandon comes in at thirteenth nationally, and third in the B1G, at $700,454 ($165,000).
Thoughts? Obviously LOL Smith, but I was a bit surprised to see that Alvarez stands to make that much more money than Brandon. I guess DB is still early in his career at Michigan...would be interested to see if he's getting paid less because he's already loaded.
Yep. You read that right. ESPN is suing Ohio State over an alleged Open Meetings Act/Public records-ish type violation:
The sports entertainment giant filed a lawsuit Monday with the Ohio Supreme Court claiming the university violated Ohio’s public records laws by failing to make available three different sets of public records sought by ESPN earlier this year. The lawsuit is essentially asking the state’s highest court to force OSU into releasing the records to ESPN.
One set of records involves e-mails, letters and memos from Tressel, OSU President Gordon Gee, OSU director of sports compliance officer Doug Archie and Athletics Director Gene Smith related to Pennsylvania businessman Ted Sarniak that ESPN requested on April 20.
I commented in another thread where I made this analogy, but I'd like to take it further.
As I read the response from a significant chunk of the OSU fanbase over the last few days, all that sprung to mind was this....
(Sorry, don't know how to embed).
Here is my interpretation of Buckeye fans as Chappelle:
Us: "You know, Tressel has been accused of this more than once."
Them: "So?! Some people say cucumbers taste better pickled."
Us: "So, what exactly would it take for you to believe that Tressel knew of these improprieties?
Them: "If there was video of Tressel watching Pryor receive cash from Dennis Talbott in exchange for autographed goods ... and Talbott was holding up 2 forms of government ID ... and then Tressel was over at Fine Line Ink watching Pryor hand over stolen goods, then supervising while Pryor received a new tattoo ... with Devier Posey and Boom Herron in the background smoking blunts and playing XBox, someone from Eleven Warriors there taking notes ... and with Ted Sarniak there to confirm Pryor's identity."
Us: "Can you at least acknowledge that Tressel more than likely knew what was happening?"
Them: "I'm sorry, sir. My buckeye-ness won't allow me to admit that."
Note: I believe that last quote came from a different Chappelle skit. Oh well.
Minor line at the end of the Sullinger-coming-back story on ESPN today. Emphasis added below:
Sullinger said he made the decision following the game, but coach Thad Matta said it's the message Sullinger has been sending to him all season.
"Oh he's been telling me that all along," Matta said. "And I believe it. He told me, draw me up a contract, whatever you need to do. I believe him when he says it."
Given that the football program is now under a cloud, can men's hoops be far behind? What would such a mythical contract promise Sullinger in return for staying? Maybe Matta meant "We'll have to renegotiate the previous contract in light of your performance?"
In any case, not a smart choice of words.
From my article on the wrestling NCAAs in Philly.
". Ohio State’s famed “O-H-I-O” chant could even be heard, showing the rest of the crowd that Buckeye fans are indeed capable of spelling four-letter words, a feat previously thought to be impossible."
Just trying to do my part. ;)
