25 years ago today the Lions demolished the Cowboys 38-6 in the Silverdome.
Barry Sanders was largely quiet (11 carries for 22 yds, apart from a 47 yd run late), as the Cowboys schemed to stop him. Erik Kramer resonded with 341 passing yds, 3 TD, 0 INT.
Prior to this game it had been 34 years since the Lions' last playoff win.
1957, 1991...when will the Lions' next playoff win come?
Anyway...happy silver anniversary, Lions fans!!
Seeing as this blog caters to a lot of Michigan residents and that we might be in need of some positive football news...with Washington defeating Minnesota and Tennessee throttling Green Bay, the Lions are in first place of the NFC North (holding the tiebreaker over Minnesota).
After losing Calvin Johnson to retirement, I certainly did not think that the Lions would find themselves in this position ~half-way through the season. They obviously have some huge flaws and have lost several games that they had no business losing, but for now I will relish in their glory. I'm also aware that this post will likely jinx them for the remainder of the season.
I don't have NFL Ticket and can't see many Lion's games out here in North Carolina so I can't get a feel for how he's doing. I've never wanted someone to make a team more than this. It would be the cool storybook ending to Jake's journey. What's the feeling back home? Is he going to be there on opening day?
Lions have announced that Caldwell is coming back for the 2016 season.
It's weird to feel feelings about football stuff. I don't like it. Vent here.
