It looks as though, after two failed transfers (first to WVU, and then to a community college in...Ohio I think?) former Michigan DB Justin 'JT' Turner has resurfaced at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona. Here's a thread from Hawaii's Scout Site that says he has an offer from the Rainbow Warriors, as well as an article from Scout saying he has interest from several schools, including ASU.
Didn't see this on the board.
DetNews reporting, per ESPN Radio in Massillon, Ohio, that Turner is transferring to West Virginia.
Wow that's a dong punch.
Justin turner was granted his release from the university of Michigan. This is from a text sent to me by Rivals.com
Let's operate under the assumption that at one time, JT Turner had the physique of a shut-down corner.
Based on practice reports and observations, JT Turner experienced a bit of a growth spurt, and as a result, is having difficulty covering receivers. If he added bad weight (fat), it is easy to rectify the situation. However, it sounds as though he has also added some muscle, which at the cornerback position, is not necessarily a good thing.
So now the question becomes, do the coaches move him to a different position or keep him at corner? Based on our current depth at the position and his potential, it's probably best to keep him there.
Do you think the coaches have encouraged him to decrease muscle mass? Should they? Has this been done successfully with any players in the past?
Just passing it along, after some confusion Saturday:
So in the new Rivals 100, JT Turner is 35th, which is 2 away from being a 5-star. Now, I'm sure the cutoff point is arbitrary, so maybe he would be a 5-star if not for the Angry Michigan Safety Hating God.
