"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."
...last time I made this, people jumped down my throat cause I was overreacting after a shitty win (UConn). I wasn't, I truly wanted to "look ahead" since I believe we were going into a Bye Week.
Now? Now I'll admit it. I'm looking to next season.

Michigan Depth Chart vs. Central Michigan: pic.twitter.com/YV5ZBx03Yd— Michigan Football (@umichfootball) August 26, 2013
A few takeaways from this are:
- Miller will likely start at center
- Drake Johnson is the #2 back, while Green is #5 and Smith is #6. However, it does have a big "OR" next to it, which makes me think that it doesn't mean much.
- Jarrod Wilson is the starting FS
- Oh, apparently Jeremy Clark weighs 305 pounds.
- Shallman is listed as a FB
- Avery is injured
- Gardner is not listed as our number one WR, but rather as a QB. Sorry Space Coyote.
1.) On the unofficial two-deep we've got Royce Jenkins-Stone as the backup WLB. Per his recruiting profile, I thought he'd be the back-up SAM. Currently, Beyer is the backup SAM, and Beyer won't likely move (WDE is taken up by Clark [Sr], Ojemudia [Soph], and Charlton [Fr], not to mention incoming recruits like Lawrence Marshall).
The depth chart by class really exemplifies my above statement regarding depth at LB. What I'm wondering is what the board thinks about RJS moving positions to SAM. He and Winovich are the best protoypes for that position on the roster, but if RJS moves from WLB this year, we have no depth.
Basically, do we see RJS as moving to SAM next year (backing up JMFR), or does he stay at WLB?
2.) The slot position loses 2/3 of its players after this year. We are bringing in new WRs, but none fit the "slot" position (except A. Scott, who has not committed). After this year, only Demario Jones (6'2) will be a "slot" WR. I know we're moving away from the position, but in the ideal Borges offense, we should still have a player who can play the slot position on offense.
Do we move one of the smaller CBs -- Richardson, Lewis, [insert any and all Cass Tech CBs here]? Or do you guys see someone moving from RB -- Norfleet, Hayes?
It's not terribly important: A. Scott as a potential commit, other WRs able to move inside, multiple TE/U-back/H-back types. Nevertheless, it's the offseason and I'm bored at work.
So we're pretty well into the season at this point (Nearly halfway! Dear god!). At any rate, we've seen a lot of play out of a lot of guys, but we've only seen a few depth chart moves so far, usually as a result of injury. I'm wondering if any of you have some moves you'd like to see take place that the coaches haven't done, yet.
A move that will be taking place this week is that Raymon Taylor has moved ahead of Avery on the depth chart, though he was going to start anyway, so that's really just procedureal.
I'd like to see a depth chart change at RB. Not necessarily movint Fitz out of the one, but maybe listing the one as Fitz OR Rawls, and I'd also like to see the options below those two more clearly demarcated and get some other guys a few chances. We have to find a back that can get it going.
I also wonder if something shouldn't be done about the depth chart at DE (Clark/Beyer). Your thoughts?
I keep hearing how Alabama has more talent due to their amazing recruiting. So I wanted to take a look and see what the differences were according to Rivals and ESPN. Hope I didn't mess up the formatting I have never done this before.
Also note I only included the players that were listed on the Two Deep depth charts. So the ratings don't include the whole recruiting classes. I was really suprised to see how many upper classman3 star guys Bama had on the OL and DL. Most of their highly rated guys were at LB, CB/S, and RB. I don't think there is as big a differnce as people think.

Sorry about the formatting I have tried to fix it but every time I save it goes back to the large verson. [ed-S: fixed. Thanks for doing the research]
