things go poorly
I didn't see this posted anywhere on the board (and I've never been able to go back past the first page of topics): After checking my fantasy team I saw some news on Denard (I've picked him as Mr Irrelevant for the 2nd year) - he beat out Jordan Todman and is now listed as the backup to Toby Gerhart (the Jags annouced it yesterday).
One notable position: running back, where Denard Robinson – a second-year veteran – is the backup behindToby Gerhart. Robinson had been competing with Jordan Todman and rookie Storm Johnson for the backup role in training camp.
Basketball on Grass.
Denard Robinson has 305 yards passing with 3 TD and 2 INT and 62 yards rushing – in three quarters! Roy Roundtree sets a Michigan receiving record with 246 yards. Tate Forcier leads a late 4thquarter drive to tie the game.
6th win of the season made us (wait for it...) Bowl Eligible!
The highest scoring game in Michigan history ends with a defensive stop in the 3rdOT.
Here is a link to the Jacksonville Jaguars' video report on yesterday's training camp. At 2:10, watch for a preview of the Henne-to-Robinson connection we keep waiting for: http://www.jaguars.com/media-gallery/videos/Inside-the-Jaguars-2014-Trai...
Mostly the usual puff piece, but check out the shoelaces. Looks like the Jaguars are finally letting Shoelace free! (sorry about that)
PREVIOUSLY OT because NFL, But NOT EVEN Semi-OT because Dilithium.
Denard Robinson is apparently making people sit up and take notice this offseason:
Ex-Jaguar Jeff Lageman, who now serves as the team’s radio analyst, said Robinson has had “the best offseason of anyone.”
I personally am very interested to see Robinson succeed at the next level, even if at RB. I could even envision a GOOD RB "Oh Noes!" type of play with Robinson getting the hand-off, heading to the line, and popping a quick slant to the Slot receiver.
Here's hoping Robinson's predictions this season come true:
And Robinson himself says he thinks people are going to be excited by what they see of him this season. “I want to be a dangerous playmaker,” Robinson said. “When they give me the ball, I want to be that guy where everybody in the stadium goes, ‘Whoa!’”
EDIT: So, in trying to avoid a controversy, kerfuffle, hubbub, ruckus, furor, or general pandemonium over whether this was OT or not, I inadvertantly invited a kerfuffle, hubbub, ruckus, furor, and general pandemonium.
Title modified. Dilithium Robinson shall heretofore NEVER be considered OT!!! The people have spoken!!!
Because I'll never get tired of reading about Denard Robinson. Ever.
He's bulked about about 15 pounds and appears to still have his same game breaking speed, but more importantly he's shown reliable hands thus far in OTA practices, not dropping a single pass.
