ESPN is trying to stoke the fire some more. Slightly half-assed but still interesting ranking of the conferences. B10 comes in at 5. MWC over Big East...
I know I shouldn't have, but I enjoyed the fact that he says that the B10 isn't strong without M.
Any predictions as to how this will look at the end of the year, post-bowls? I'd like to see us at least in the top 3 but somehow I don't see that happening. Hope to see the Big XII at the top mostly because, well their games are the equivalent of...i dont know, something to do with lightning or hurricanes or something?
Of course, it was riddled with praise of Tim Tebow and how Brent feels Tim will be an outstanding NFL quaterback. He even mentioned that Tebow would do well to be used in the wildcat formation.
At any rate, my attention faded, as Musburger was saying the same things everyone has already said concerning Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas. He caught my attention when he said that all these big-name schools being dominant will allow for a very entertaining football season. He then mentions off-hand that if only Michigan could be great this year, the upcoming season would be phenomenal, to paraphrase.
While watching, I had mixed feelings. I was exciting that we were being mentioned, albeit as a side note, among teams that are hot and hyped. However, I felt dissatisfied that we are basically being mentioned as former giants that have been dismantled. I, for one, am ready to see Michigan return to the national spotlight in a positive way.
Side note: Musburger also postulated that the Nittany Lions could make the title game if they run the table. Just thought I would mention that.
How have you reacted the last couple of years to these tough seasons? My roommates are from Georgia(I live in the South) and when Alabama killed Georgia last year they destroyed the patio furniture and threw pint glasses into the woods behind the house. One roomie had a bloody foot from kicking a plastic chair in half. Have you ever drawn blood?
Doesn't it piss you guys off that we will probably never play App State again? I hate that. With Toledo, you know we are gonna get our shot when they come back around again. And then of course all of our Big Ten rivals and bowl rivals (USC). But App State....they are just gonna sit there forever...holding it over our heads.
People were mentioning in an earlier post about who is our 4th biggest rival....and that is great and all. But I want Appalachian State.
So I overheard a couple of guys talking about fantasy football of the NCAA variety at the bar the other night. But I never got a chance to ask them where or how they play.
Are there any websites on the intertubes in which this is possible? I know it's technically against collegiate rules or illegal or some other form of douchbaggery. I do all my fantasy leagues through Yahoo Sports and I haven't seen it on there before.
This would be wicked sweet if it were possible.
Jesse Scroggins, the last top 10 Pro-Style QB on Rivals list....decides between 3 large schools today...USC, Florida, or Tennessee. From Vols sources it is between USC and Tennessee.
Scroggins is from California. With all of the crap going on with Kiffin, it would be interesting if he pulled a QB at this level. It almost would then beg the question, is it viable that your head coach can act like a dumbass...and it works?
