"The University of Illinois is also in turmoil. The university sports an Interim Chancellor, an Interim Athletic Director, and an Interim Football Coach; the game will be played at Soldier Field, making this an Illini Interim Home Game."
In his post game press conference, Bret Bielema lets it slip that he's looking forward to hopping on his wife. He tries to correct himself by saying he meant hopping on a plane with his wife but the damage was already done. Embed below.
The Razorbacks' offense.
Arkansas’ style of play is no secret. Bielema prefers it that way.
"I always think of it in these terms: If we were involved in a crime scene and we did it, they should be able to tell right away because it's part of our DNA."
“There's nothing I love more than to watch a high-powered, fast-paced offense and to see their coaches pacing the sideline because they can't get the ball,” Bielema said. “It just pisses 'em off. It's a great tool because it begins to affect their psyche.”
Bret Bielema is addressing a recent DWI incident involving a Razorback player in very strong contrast to many other SEC institutions:
Bielema said he talked to Beanum's mother to help determine a proper, or additional, punishment. "For instance, I've taken away his car," Bielema said.
When Bielema left Wisconsin in a highly questionable move, his one stated reason was that he was tired of losing his assistant coaches because Wisconsin was unwilling to invest to compete. The implication was that Arkansas in the Mighty SEC West was up to the task.
Apparently, either Arkansas isn't willing to pay to play, losing out to a lowly ACC school, or Bret has personality issues and people just don't want to work with him.
Our good "pal" Bret Bielema apparently doesn't know how good his Arkansas team is...but has a range of where he thinks they should be ranked:
"I don't think we're No. 76. I don't think we're No. 1," Bielema told reporters before an appearance at the Little Rock Touchdown Club. "I think we're somewhere in between."
Guess he will find out pretty quickly how good they are:
However, the schedule isn’t kind for the Razorbacks, who open at Auburn, the defending SEC champion and national championship runner-up, and then play at Texas Tech two weeks later. If there’s some saving grace, the Razorbacks do get Alabama and LSU at home.
He is Number 1 for Drunk OMG Shirtless!!! though:
