Too bad Bell's didn't make the cut, but beer is never OT. Two of the beers come from Dexter, Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza and Leelanau Good Harbor Golden Ale. If you haven't had them, they are both worth a shot.
I have recently starting making my own beer, and the first batch, an American Stout, went very well. I was thinking that I should brew some up for next season, and wanted to get the MGoCommunity's opinion on what brew to make. Something that speaks of renewal, youth, despair? so i was curious how many mgobloggers homebrew? i'm trying to decide what to do for my next batch. make something to keg and drink in the next month or so, or plan ahead and brew and bottle a summer beer and let it sit for a few months.
I'm throwing a Christmas party next weekend and most of the people enjoy sampling good beers. As one who always enjoys that too, I was wondering if people had any suggestions for good holiday brews or unique seasonal beers that might be something different than, say Sam Adams Winter Lager or whatever...
