ED-Seth: Welcome to our Bar Finder Sticky. The user community has kept this going since 2009 to help MGoBloggers find UM-friendly sites for their suds consumption.
We also got a big boost in curation in 2016 from our sponsors, the...

THE ORIGINAL POST:
A couple weeks ago, I put together a google map with all of the Michigan bars I'm aware of (and also everything from the spreadsheet that bouje has been maintaining.) The map is here.
Hopefully this will prevent the "where's the Michigan bar in Pittsburgh/Fresno/Topeka/wherever" threads that pop up every week, but if your favorite gameday hangout isn't on here, put it in the thread and let me know. I'll do my best to keep the map up to date.
It's finally here. The long winter of our discontent is finally over. March 27th heralds the realease of the 2017 Oberon.
While parts of the US get Oberon year-round (I'm glaring at you Florida and California), those of us in Bell's homestate of Michigan only get it seasonally. So get out your orange slices and enjoy the reminder that Summer is right around the corner.
In honor of our esteemed opponent on Thursday, I would like to prepare a meal fit for the occasion. I wasn't able to find duck breast anywhere, but I found a local butcher who has whole duck.
After wading through the youtube my preference is to cook it on the grill using the "beer can chicken" method, but it sounds a little tricky and proper temperature is critical.
I would be very appreciative if anyone in the MGoBlog community has experience cooking whole ducks, and particularly, "beer can duck" on the grill. I can't remember a tastier opponent, and do not want to let this opportunity slip away.
This is a call to all in the MGoCommunity to help a great family in West Michigan. New Holland Brewing (original location downtown Holland, not Grand Rapids) is hosting a fund raiser for a good family whoses 4 month old daughter who is battling an autoimmune disorder. Promo poster is below.
If you are not in the West Michigan area and still want to help they have a crowdfunding page here.
One of the great things about Michigan is not just being disappointed in our sports teams together and occasionally celebrating victory, but the willingness to help each other. I hope you are able to help this great family. Every little bit helps. And Go Blue!
Before, during or after the PSU game on Saturday, stop by the Cancer Support Community's Charity Beer Garden and save on a pint of craft beer flowing from 10 taps. You can also grab some Slows Bar BQ and a seat out of the sun and in front of a big screen.
Mention MGoBlog a the ID/ticket table and your $6 craft beer is $5.
Find it at 327 E. Hoover Ave., adjacent to Elbel Field, immediately east of the railroad tracks (used to be Purchase Radio Supply) and kitty-corner from the MMB's Revelli Hall
This and every game day, you'll find:
- 10 taps with local craft beers (plus bottled water, Coke/Diet/Sprite)
- indoor seating in the warehouse
- two big screen TV's for GameDay, pe-game, the game, post-game,
- family-friendly--bring your kids
- cash or credit cards
...and 100% of beer sales benefit the charity!
Thanks, in advance, for the support of the MGoBlog community.
