Ohio State team captain Michael Bennett gave President Obama bunny ears during their team photo at the White House.
And his now deleted tweet:
Did the bunny ears show up on TV or was it too late?— Mike (@mike63bennett) April 20, 2015
Ever wonder how the collective knowledge of MGoBloggers stacks up against the big names and professional blowhards of the business?
As many of you know, Saint_in_Blue has once again set up a bracket contest at ESPN for the blog. There are 440 entries (well, 455, but 15 of them are blank and I'm going to ignore them).
ESPN and CBS have posted "celebrity brackets" at their websites and here's how we measure up after the first weekend. (Scores are normalized to the standard 1-2-4... pts/game method used at CBS and most private contests--ESPN multiplies these scores by ten, to no effect.)
- 436 of 440 have scores of 33 or better. (Jimmy Kimmel)
- 424 of 440 have scores of 36 or better (Fran Fraschilla)
- 418 of 440 have scores of 37 or better (Gregg Doyel)
- 349 of 440 have scores of 40 or better (Colin Cowherd)
- 221 of 440 have scores of 43 or better (President Obama)
- 181 of 440 have scores of 44 or better (Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale, Dennis Dodd)
- 133 of 440 have scores of 45 or better (Doug Gottlieb)
- 37 of 440 have scores of 48 or better (Andy Katz, Jim Cramer--yes, that Jim Cramer)
Yes, it's true...four of you are doing worse than Jimmy Kimmel.
I won't name names.
So I made non-refundable plane reservations out of Detroit tomorrow well before President Obama was announced as the commencement speaker, and will not be able to see him speak this weekend. I know the speech will be airing on the Big Ten Network, but in case I am not able to get that channel back home, does anyone know of a place on the web where I would be able to watch the speech live (or even at a later time)?
If you saw this, forgive me:
Republicans turned off by size of Obama's package.
I only see this one bested by:
In Rod We Trust: Wolverines wins BCS Championship
The prestige capital of UM is high. When I got my BS in '07 we had Bill Clinton. Now, getting my Master degrees, we're gonna have Obama. BALLIN'!
Still ballin', though
I was just at the Obama's Election Night Rally (and Victory) and first off, it was amazing to see so many people there cheering for Obama and cheering everytime CNN projected a state for Obama. As soon as they declared that Obama was president-elect - well, you can imagine.
While listening to his speech, some eerie similarities popped up between his speech and RR's speeches that he gave before the season. Obama said that the first year may not be pretty, maybe not even the second year, but that change is coming and as long as you believe him in that he will turn this country around.
Does that sound like any college football team that we know of? I was standing next to another Michigan fan at the rally and I turned to him and said "doesn't this sound like RR?" and he immiediately nodded his head and said "that's EXACTLY what I was thinking."
Who has the harder job? Haha.
