Cornelius Jones leads 3-8 Spartanburg past 11-0 Rock Hill
If Cornelius can do it so can the Maize and Blue! Beat OSU!

Conelius Jones' team Advances
"Thirteenth-seeded Spartanburg, just 3-8 during the regular season, dealt fourth-seeded Rock Hill its first loss in 12 games this season in the biggest shocker of the 4A playoffs, officially announcing Cinderella’s arrival at the ball."
This was quite a surprise, folks. Glad to see the team of one of our recruits get a big win. The Rock Hill Bearcats entered ranked No. 21 nationally by USA Today. Jones had a TD run in the first half and a TD run in the second half, finishing with 19 rushes for 116 yards.

Hey Tim -- Are ND Guys Poachable?
I was wondering, if Weiss does get the boot, does that re-open Notre Dame's latest recruiting class, especially if, say, we pick up one of their position coaches or something?

I don't think we really went head-to-head on any of these guys except perhaps Lo Wood.
It drove me nuts when our 2008 class suddenly became a target for poachers (and it ended up giving us a terrible defensive class). I guess I feel differently, though, when the shoe is on the other foot.
Dior Mathis makes Army AA Bowl?
I just got this press release in my inbox from the Detroit Lions. Looks like Dior Mathis to me...

Sleeper Recruit Carvin Johnson
I noticed this guy's picture on the front of GBW with the quote "I love this place." So I thought I'd do a little "googlestalking".

48. CARVIN JOHNSON--RUMMEL--6'1 190--SAFETY. 4.68. Johnson is a two-sport starter, serving as an outfielder on the Raiders baseball team. Football is clearly his best sport. "He's a fierce hitter. He has great hands and good instincts for the ball," said Rummel Head Coach Jay Roth. (Considering Tulane, Michigan, Utah, Minnesota and Vanberbilt).
His team is currently ranked number 2 in the state for class 5A.
Sentrel Henderson, Sharif Floyd not at the game
FYI, I was listening to local sports talk radio in Ann Arbor (WTKA) and according to Sam Webb, Sentrel Henderson and Sharif Floyd were not at the game, despite some (early) reports that they would be in attendance. I read earlier in the week that Floyd wouldn't be coming, but just wanted to throw this out there for all to uh, enjoy? There was apparently at least some credible rumor that Henderson would come, but uh, yeah, didn't happen.
