Logan: "It's Michigan On Top"
I think we can pencil Brandon Logan in. He's good friends with McKinney I believe, so maybe that will help sway him to recommit. McKinney's been a bit of an odd bird about this, I have no idea where he's leaning now.
More CFN
With their "Who Won And Who Should Have Won" 2004 Award winners.
Some weird Wolverine overrating:
- Claims Shazor should have been the Thorpe winner. Antrel Rolle? Hello? Bueller? Shazor's a monster hitter but didn't make many of plays in coverage and was susceptible to blowing coverages and overrunning plays. Rolle was ridiculous in both coverage and run support. Don't let a couple clutch forced fumbles overshadow Rolle's spectacular year.
- They ranked Tim Massaquoi the second best TE in the country. I like Massaquoi, but that's way overreaching. He'll still drop the occasional ball and isn't exactly an impact player in the Michigan offense.
Henne, Hart, Long on CFN Frosh AA Team
As the title says.
Long kind of got lost in the wash with all the H&H hype but barring injury he'll be a first rounder in three years and and AA before he's done. Just a monster.
Hockey up to #3 temporarily
Michigan's moved up to #3 in the USCHO poll. This will last until Michigan gets bitched in the GLI by some team that doesn't have 6-7 regulars out of the lineup.
Preliminary pairwise reports have UM at #4, with all four projected #1 seeds being Western teams, which would mean UM getting shipped east for a second straight year. Still a long way to go.
MSUStudent has his first bracketology of the year posted.
Score one for the good guys
Apparently I didn't waste my time with the Brandon Harrison linkfest. ($)
Man lands on moon + NFL Draft
Michigan with 4 AP All-Americans: Baas, Edwards, Jackson, Shazor.
Lincoln shot, I know, but I severely bruised some ribs yesterday. Screw you.
In other news, Shazor's projected to go in the 2nd or 3rd round by ESPN Insider, and is listed as "Should Stay." No mention of Watson. Shazor's been expected to declare for the entire year, but maybe if he thinks he can make it to the first round by staying, he might. I don't know how realistic that is: usually one or two safeties, at most, go in the first round.
Same guy's board has Braylon at 5 and Marlin at 22, FYI.
